My Bethel Experience
The last 4 days I had the EXTREME blessing of being in BETHEL.
It was awesome.
For those thinking about going, I BELIEVE that you should take up the chance immediately...before you have any MAJOR responsibilities that you can't get rid of.
You learn so much...I wanna talk about all the cool things BK, Bethel has to offer.
1) You move on your own.. without all the major expenses or responsibilities. Have your own room... basically your own apartment...and it's one of the most expensive rooms you'll ever be in too...They would rent to be like $3000 a month if on the market.. i'm talking 1 bedroom.. Water front Brooklyn property.. it rocks. The neighborhood is amazing... walk out your door and WHAP there's the water and tons of people walking around.. there's a lot to do.. believe me.
2) FOOD !!! they feed you good.. and good food too..
3) Being with fellow brothers and sisters... we all know thats just cool.
4) and all the spritual nourishment you can ask for. Morning worship is great.
it's a great way to start off the day...
The thing is you're going to have to work from 8-5 .. everyday and some saturdays.. but people with full time jobs do that now.. and I bet all that work wouldn't be able to afford you the apartment you can get in BK.
anyway it's a cool experience..
FOR MEN ONLY
CUTE LADIES and you know they're spiritual. :) [iwz: keep in mind that this should be looooow on your priority list when choosing to go to Bethel, haha...]
[TYPHAM - DEFINATELY TRUE.. LOW ON YOUR PRIORITIES..VERY LOW]
Anyway if you have the chance to do it.. I say go for it.. I don't have time to write anything else or anything better.. i had to rush being as how i'm in school and all..i'll catch you all later.
Oh yeah i wanted to add.. if you can't make it for full time.. try temp. work.. thats also great...they accept you anywhere from 1 week ON... try it out.. !!!!!

Sounds like a dream...
actually, funny that you should post this, i was JUST at "BK" as you put it, today. I had a GREAT time. I actually am planning on putting my application in this sept. And well see what happens from there...
Yeah, mike!
Yea dude.. good for you .. it's such a good place
i cant figure out what BK stands for.. ??? someone help me please!! why cant you just write out the entire word for the sake of me????? the only thing i can think of is burger king but it just doesnt fit
BK = brooklyn..
you know BK ..
j-la.. you should know this stuff..
bk is so not an abbreviation for brooklyn..brooklyn's abbreviation is brklyn.. bk is for burger king or british knights (remember those shoes)-- so there!! ha! you should know better! blah, blah, blah!!! j/k :)
For temp work, do they allow sisters to go? Ive wondered that for a long time. I think it would be such an awesome experiance for anyone to do. Ty im glad you had a chance!
you would have to apply... it all depends on what they need at that time....
do you know of any needs that they might have right now?
well, when i went to the bethel meeting they said they had NO needs for single woman right now.. but our guide yesterday was a single sister.. so i guess it just depends on the timing of when u send ur application in.. you should call them and see what they have to say.
TINA , just apply.. it doesn't matter.. they look at it.. if they need you they'll take you.. first step is applying.. who cares what they need.. just APPLY!!!!!!!!!!!
i really think i want to. what an amazing privlage that would be! and its perfect now, since im not tied down to anyone or anything.
Definately go for it! It'll be so worth it, and don't just try to apply once, and give up if they reject you the first time, keep applying. Like someone said, their needs change constantly. I know a young single sister that got excepted to do massage therapy. Your BEST chances to get in (at least for full time) is to be a dental hygenist, or massage therapy, or something like that. BUT TRY ANYWAY. I'm going to apply when things work out for me. Right now I'm committed to my job, and when my contract is done, I'm thinking of doing work where the need is great for a month or two. We'll see what's up. Once I determine when I can go, then I'll apply. Oh, plan ahead, too. Apply now, for several months ahead.....you're chances are a little bit better, cause they'll have time to review your application. (I got pinched out the first time, cause I submitted mine too late...not enough time between when I wanted to go, and when I applied.) I wrote a book. Bye
Man.. this was my story back then.. my first story i think woo hoo
