Lemon Curry?

Even though I don't typically squeeze myself into the mold that others so graciously provide, I've decided not to pioneer a new topic today, but to go with the flow as it were, and talk about MY SUMMER.

Ahhhh where to start where to start. Well, it definitely went to fast, that's for darn sure, although looking back, quite a lot happened. I got to see several bands perform, and while none of them are perhaps as cheezy as the ones your very own Punk Princess Tina described, they were still worth seeing. I saw The Vandals with Lagwagon and The Ataris (by the way, Lagwagon is amazing) and another show with Goldfinger, Reel Big Fish, Zebrahead, Homegrown, and several other bands. By the way, who were those HOT girls in those zebra pants??! Hook me up with a pair! not girls. I mean pants... wait... GIRLS! not! Hey, did anyone happen to see a 6' 2'' 90 pound stud up there on stage with Goldfinger during SUPERMAN!?? haha, well, next time look up and don't be PICKING YOUR NOSE the whole show!

And then of course, I can't forget the travels of ABSOLUTE ZERO, one of my plethora of bands which played a very exciting show at the saint, and recorded a demo cd in June, which was a fun experience too. To top all of that off, we are playing a show at the STONE PONY in asbury park Wedenesday night! The very same place where BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN played last weekend and BON JOVI played last month!! phew, what a ride. Anyway, Absolute Zero has really been a fun time, and we're gonna keep rockin on with it, hopefully for a really long time.

And then the Adventures of my other band, the name of which is in limbo at the moment, but we played at Larry Eadie's wedding and Mike Campbell's grad party as New Sky Morning. That's been a real cool experience too, plus it's helped me branch out and meet new people, and become better friends with people I already knew! I'm really grateful for that!

One of the happiest/stressfullest times I had this summer was in June when I auxillary pioneered. It feels so good to get back on track with service, and feel like you're actually making a difference, anybody that can do it, should give it a try! And even though it came down to the very last day of the month (due to me getting stuck in a route 80 traffic jam for 3 and a half hours on my way to evening witnessing) it was worth the while.

Finally, I can't forget to mention my trip to Sea Isle City, which I just concluded this passed weekend. That was such an awesome time to just kick back, relax, and reflect with my family and friends down at the NJ shore. I played basketball almost every day, and got schooled almost every day too. One day I played with a bunch of black kids from Philly, and gained the rep as "The White Hustler", meaning I don't have skills, but I HUSTLE! On the last day, I played a 5 on 5, where 4 out of the 10 guys there could dunk. Man did I feel like a loser, because they were all white, and not much taller than me, and here they're doing 360's off the backboard. But that trip was fun down to the last drop, from the girls at the ice cream place giving us free ice cream, to Opey's trip to the fudge shop. ahhh, good times. (just don't ask me about the seagull story!)

This summer has definitely been awesome, really rewarding, and memorable! The only thing that was wrong with it is that it was TOO SHORT! Also, that I didn't have a chick to enjoy it with, so to all you fly girls out there, my number is... NOT! that's probably one of the reasons it was so good, no hassles with women... ahhh, i just dug my own grave, I'll never get a date now! Oh well, I guess that's it then, and even though the summer isn't over quite yet, college is coming back in 2 WEEKS!! so I guess I better get used to the idea.
