Holy stinkin poop. Im in!
That's like heaven..in a movie theater. I may just cry.
Isn't that like 9 hrs of movies???????
9 hrs of Legolas and Aragorn?? woo hoo!
I just wish they'ed cut out mopre violence, too much death and gore.
Book one didn't see to have THAT much gore in it. (the book not the movie)
Just don't throw a dwarf!
It'd be over 9 hours a movie since they're adding the deleted scenes from the first two. I'm so excited to see the gift giving seen from lorien.
saw a horrible movue to night DAREDEVIL it made LOTR look like a love story....horrible violence.....esp when tha girl was killed ! stupid movie hope they dont make a sequel, which they will. And i WONT rent.
What does that mean....."it made LOTR look like a love story?" does that make LOTR look bad? or good in your mind? I don't get it. thanks
no i like LOTR very much, it just needs less violence, I couldn't watch some of it b/c of the goriness. If they took some of it out it wouldn't hurt the movie!
I think the books have the same amount of violence in them, maybe there is something different about seeing it on the screen?
well i just got done reading Fellowship and it seemed to focus more on the quest, with the Wraithes and the Orcs and such here and there. It was VERY talky. More of then saying 'Oh there is a great shadow passing over our land and we do fear it may take over even the Light' stuff like that over and over again. Anyway #2 was waaaaay to violent, but i have not read the Two Towers yet.I guess it had to be b/c of the battle scene, which was a major part of the movie. But really still i DO like the movies in general and the music is beautiful, and get me on a plane to New Zealand, STAT!
well The Fellowship is less fighting. Its more like the beginning of the quest. The end of the movie is the beginning of the 2nd book. Two Towers and ROTK have much more war in it, which you will see in the movies. They did a pretty good job staying true to the books. Some stuff is a little off, but they did it for the integrity of the movie.
my brother who is a LOTR nut said they really played up the Arwen /Aragorn love thing and u know there was really nothing at least in the first book about ANYTHING between them, maybe a hint of something, thats it.
There is only a hint and it's not really brought out until the end of ROTH, or brought to attention. BUT if you read the appendix on them, their love affair had been going on from before the books started. In the first book she took the spot of Glorfindel, an Elf Lord who saved frodo at the river.
but they have been in love since he was 23 and in the moives he is almost 54.. i learned it from thatdarngirl tonite!!
That was kind of approximate but around his early twenties he met.
My co-worker was just telling me all about this, now I can tel him all about.... so 9 hours straight..... who's with me?
I'd do it in a hot second. I do that kinda stuff now and then. especially if i get a DVD i love. i'll watch it and then watch it again with the directors commentary and then i'll hop into all the supplemental material. i'm just a movie freak.
Yeah, i was talkin with my co-worker about it, he said they are going to play all 3 movies in a row, and maybe they will sell the tickets as a package deal, that would be good b/c i dont want to get stick seeing 2 of the 3, i want to see all of them in one shot. I do hope there is intermission at least. So i think we are going to have to preorder those tickets.... real soon
I'm totally in! Intermission or not. This is something George Lucas was very stupid not to think of.
paaarty! so exciting.
you all serious? 9 hours...in a theater. shoot me in the face and call me and my sheep "partna's" before i do that. 1 and 2 were sooo long. no way i could watch all at once. i'd 1) pee my pants 2) poop my pants 3) somet type of mix between poo and pee in my pants 4) then die. thats too long. i will however see the 3rd one by itself. who's with me !
what is with you and bodily functions??
he's full of it (i mean: them)
so I smell....er....see!
OK. so can anyone find out if this is a real thing and where its gonna happen? (its only in a few select theatres) maybe we can form an eZabel Event for this. I'd be down for the marathon, but maybe we can also have other people join us for just The Return of the King.
This is definetly gonna happen, I checked out the official site the other day (www.lordoftherings.net) and they said tickets will go on sale the end of September probably.
2 TOWERS COMES OUT TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My kids are getting it for me and my hubby as an anniversary (27yrs, Aug 29) present! If u buy it at CVS u get 2-2liter bottles of soda, LOL!!!!
ehhh. wait for the extended version DVD. getting them both is such a rip-off.
I'm buying them all on video now and because I love box sets of stuff when the extended additions are all out I'll buy the box set of the DVDs of that.
so you're getting the VHS version of the theatrical-release, and then you're gonna buy the DVD set of the extended-release? ok. that makes a little more sense. buying both versions on DVD just seems stupid. Even if I do like watching the different versions of Brazil (but in that case its completely justified as they are a result of a director's battle with his studio and demonstrate the chilling effects of editing)
but if you reserved the DVD you got a Gollum figurine. its completely worth it. everything you say is poppycock.
i waited on that for the first one...glad i did
you've been married 27 yrs??
haha what is this off topic thingy???

Your grown kids don't appreciate little kid movies? That's sad. We all love to sit around and laugh our heads off at Lilo & Stitch.
thats not what i meant.
its that now they are adults and i miss em being little.
our favorite movie is Princess Bride, we still watch that together.
I think I'm gonna cry..this may interfere? with my finals..
