Evil Eye Galaxy
I don't really know about anyone else on this site, but I'm really into astronomy and space. I was looking through CNN's website and came across this interesting little article about the "Evil Eye" or "Black Eye" galaxy. I just thought it's amazing how pretty things like this look and how well they were created and organized. I marvel at creation every time I look up at the sky and look at the stars.
I just thought it was amazing how the galaxy its self is spinning in one direction and the interstellar gas at the outer reaches of the galaxy is rotating in the opposite direction.
Here's a link to it if anyone wants to take a look.

that is Awesome!!! I love it! Are there any hi-res pictures of it? I love cool space pictures!
nice man... i love this kinda stuff too.. is ther soemthing going on with hubble right now, i saw soemthing on the news at a resturant about NASA trying to save it?
It's only got like a year left before it's supposed to stop working I think. They were talking about doing what they could to get more out of it. There was an interview on TechTV with the head of NASA, I'll see if I can find the article and post a link to it.
that is so amazing. i love looking at that stuff. i wish i had a REALLY big telescope.
yeah, a big telescope and a star map. and i know this is nerdy, but it would be cool to have a star named after me. of course, jehovah knows them all by name. so technically they are already named. hmmm. ok, nevermind.
lol. Yeah I know what you mean. It would be cool. You'd have scientists you don't even know saying your name because there is a star named after you. Then you can call yourself a star on top of that.
You can buy people star's and name them, I think it's fairly cheap. My friend's boyfriend did it for her last year.
yeah, i always wanted to get a book w/ all the constellations so i would know them better.
i took this large planetarium class and now i'm really happy i did because i love knowing what i'm looking at.
I took one in high school. I think I would have learned a lot if I actually showed up. It was just the perfect class to cut just about every day my senior year, and the teacher was really cool.
