English Grammar Lesson
Ok, so it seems that the eZabel community is in desperate need of some grammar correction. In the ENGLISH language, which most make a claim to speak, there are distinct differences between the meaning of a word when spelled differently. For example, there, they're and their are pronounced pretty much the same but should be used for three different things.
There is where the car is parked. (Locational)
Their car is parked over there. (Possession, for multiple)
They're looking for the car. (A contraction of THEY ARE)
So since it seems contractions are what specifically give a lot of people a hard time, here is a quiz..
Take the contraction quiz!
Take the They're, Their, There quiz!

I got two wrong on the contraction quiz because they didn't accept capital letters at the beginning of words. Ugh. I'd also like to take this opportunity to say that posting quizes from an "English as Second Langage" web site is pretty insulting. Don't be so esoteric.
I love that word. Esoteric. I said it at in a comment at a meeting and now people think I'm smart. Suckers!
Just curious. In what way are you using the word? Or what does it mean to you?
I always thought it meant something like "knowledge of the few"; like "the esoteric philosophers pontificated the meaning of life". (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=esoteric)
I'm using it sarcastically in the previous comment, like "who does hunkpapap think he is to give everyone else a grammar lesson? He's not an english teacher."
Oh, haha.
Yeah i was worried that everyone would think i'm some kind of grammar nazi, but i think it's just better overall. No one here really cares, but if you are sending an email to another person at a job it may make a difference.
No offense is meant to anyone, as i understand that as products of the NJ public school systems you were handicapped to begin with. HAHAHA
I'll have you know this NJ-public-school-trained girl got a 720 on the verbal section of her SAT's.

Who and Whom, What is the Difference?
You use who when it is referring to the person doing the verb, and whom when it is the person recieving the verb.
ex: Who said that? vs. Whom did she take to the dance?
seriously, i appreciate the help, but with all the words you routinely get wrong on here, i mean come on...
hey! i don't usually make gramatical errors. NEVER would i confuse the "the(i)(y)r(e)"s, unless i was completely exausted

Ok, I type kinda slow but it's hard to believe anyone could have problems with contrations, though it doesn't really matter to me if someone can spell or not. Thats not really what I'm looking at when someones trying to express their feelings to me.
