Wanna go into Outer Space?
New Mexico will soon have a spaceport for tourists. The $225 million spaceport already has 38,000 people waiting to be rocketed into outer space.

So, yes, pretty soon our dreams will be realized. We will be able to send rock supastar where we've always wanted.
Assuming the timing was right, and they said it was safe, would you do this? Would you strap yourself on top of thousands of pounds of violatile rocket fuel and take the ride of your life?

I would LOVE to go, too. That shuttlecock thing scares me. I don't want to float down through the atmosphere like a badmitton birdie, and then depend on it to "transform" into a plane again. That definitely makes me a bit nervous. But other than that, I'm alllllllllllll for it!
a perfect thing would be to build some tourist station in a space station, so they could go up there. ooooh 2001 a space oddessy!!!! and monkeys!
I thought this sounded pretty cool, until I read the following:
"The key to Rutan's design is a craft, which on its return to earth turns from a beautiful sleek space plane into a 'shuttlecock' - to gently drift back through the atmosphere without overheating. It then metamorphoses once again into a conventional aircraft shape ready for landing." - I don't ride in shuttle cocks
"Burt has utilised a much safer fuel than ever before - nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and rubber." - if i chew a rubber band and inhale laughing gas, can I too fly to outer space. sounds absurd.
yo i heard that richard branson now allows frequent flyer miles on Virgin Atlantic to be used for trips to outer space - 200,000 miles = one trip to the Moon

I would never ever do this. They make it look so nice and easy in Star Wars..just hope into the Millenium Falcon and rocket off into space without any trouble (except for Star Destroyers) but the whole rocketing out of the atmosphere feeling like you have an elephant sitting on your chest is enough to deter me.
