Peels my Potatoes: Fancy Footwork

iwz by iwz · Mar 9, 2006 · Television · 143 views

Some of you may have seen this awesome video, from a few months back, of Ronaldinho playing around with a soccer ball after he tries on some new Nike sneakers.

If you haven't seen it, you've GOT to see it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsO6D1rwrKc&feature=Views&page=1&t=a&f=b

Of course, conspiracy theories immediately cropped up as to how the video was faked in one way or another. A CG ball, trick photography, something like that. Well, I think the truth has surfaced. After watching the above video, check out this behind-the-scenese exposé of the video:

Obviously, the fakery runs deep.

Remaining questions that need to be answered: Who is wearing the Ronaldinho Gaucho suit in the original video? And who is this mysterious blue man helping him out with his tricks?

We may never know.

the first guy is an amazing Brazillian soccer athelete, usually just known as Ronaldinho. (www.ronaldinho.com.br)

I don't know what to say. He might be THAT good. I guess it's possible. Whenever I pull some amazing stuff on xbox live people assume I'm modding. And I don't mod. So, I don't know. BUT, if you notice -- there aren't any cuts in the video. It's all one take and for all that to happen perfectly it must have taken a million and one tries. I don't know. The Ball being CG is a very easy thing to do. He could have dribbled the ball over there, the CG dude could have made the REAL ball disappear and replaced it with a CG ball when he was doing those goal post kicks and then cut the real ball back in when he started to approach the Nike dude. That's my idea, but what do I know? Maybe the ball is 100% CG, Maybe it's 0% CG. We may never know. BUT maybe if you found out who directed that video and maybe view some his others ads, we can see if he uses CG well or at all.
