$15 b-ball kicks?

Stephon Marbury, the point guard for the New York Knicks, is marketing a new basketball shoe called "the Starbury One." As the endorser of this sneaker, Stephon Marbury will wear them on the basketball court.
The unusual thing about these sneakers? They will only cost $14.98 to buy. To me this is a huge breakthrough, because even a really lousy pair of basketball shoes can end up costing you fifty bucks, and a high end pair can even be between $150 and $200.
I've always thought the cost of basketball shoes is rediculous, that there's no way a pair of sneakers should cost that much. I'm definitely going to pick up a pair of these new shoes. Hey, it's only fifteen bucks.
However let the buyer beware. One report states: "Beware - there are reports that the Starbury One will cause excessive shooting and only runs towards the basket."

One other problem: Seems these Steve & Barry's stores are only pretty much in the ghetto.

Livingston, NJ is not too far and is definitely not ghetto.
Makes you wonder what they're doing differently to charge so little for them. Chinese sweat shops??
you know what? it probably costs the same to make these as it does to make the $170 jordans. just they're not marked up as much. and btw, i think nike and reebok are both known for their exploitation
hey man, if i can get a cool product for cheap...i'm all about the sweat shops then! LOL *jk*

HAHAHAHAHA omg i cant even think of a witty comeback that was rad!!!
I read this and then was talking about this with my co-worker.
I think it's a nice idea so that kids in school can have a nice shoe and it's budget friendly for the parents.
On the other hand my co-worker was saying from the standpoint of really bourgeois little bratz that MUST have name brand...they won't care that the shoes are of the same quality as the more expensive ones, they'll still want name brand, and put down the other kids that can't get them.
I guess for adults it doesn't matter though, a deal is a deal.
Dude the excessive shooting comment is hysterical. It will probably make you think you are the best point guard in the world too
