You forgot the best fruit in the world: pomegranates.

punkprincess punkprincessOG 2001 ·

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

i'm allergic to like a third of these, anyway...can i vote for pineapple? its soooooo good, yum, i just had some this morning

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 ·

wow that must suck

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

i liken it to not being able to drink milk

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 ·

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 ·

come on, that was funny!!

esprit15d esprit15dOG 2003 ·

ME TOO.Each year I develop more friut allergies. It all started in 4th grade with an orange.

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

really?! I keep getting more and more too! Mine started with apples, and then added on honey dew melon next, then peaches.........and sooooo oooon

esprit15d esprit15dOG 2003 ·

I know. I started questioning my sanity and wondering was it psychosomatic until I found out something similar (though not as bad) happened to my aunt - she allergic to quite a few fruits too. Good to know we're not alone. Maybe we should start a support group.

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

haha, we should...actually, i think i found some research on it that says its oral allergy syndrome...if you look it up, they say it comes from the pollen of plants

tesoro tesoroOG 2001 ·

so since its an oral allergy..do you think it would bother you to inject honeydew melon juice directly into your veins?

esprit15d esprit15dOG 2003 ·

That's a good thought, becuase it gets weirder. Can't eat oranges, but can eat marmalade, can't eat tomatoes, but pizza, and ketchup I'm fine with.

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

that's another symptom of oral allergy syndrome....you can't eat the actual fruit, but once it is cooked, or put through concentrate...you can eat it. I can't eat apples, but i can eat apple pie...etc.

esprit15d esprit15dOG 2003 ·

Wow, you've given me so much insight on this thing. I'm gonna look it up.

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

hahahha, umm quite possibly that would be okay. I did do a test once where i stabbed myself with a fork and dabbed myself with peach, and i still lived....or maybe i didn't

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

I love pineapple..it's not up there. But even greater then my love for pineapple is my love for tomatos.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

i'm a huge tomato fan!

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

I eat them like they're fruit..just like eat it whole.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

i eat 'em like it's going out of style, even though it's not.

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 ·

Have you ever tried cutting them in half and salting them? That is so good.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

yes yes yes! That's my favorite form of tomatos..and that thing that Italians do, I don't even know what it is..but it's amazing!

T
toxicgirlOG 2003 ·

In the summer I eat tomato salad every day, I cut up roma tomato, soak them in vinegar with a little bit of olive oil, fresh basil and red onion. I remember sitting on the porch with my Dad eating this along with olives and Italian bread and he told me that I ate like a Sicilian. It was a nice memory.

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 ·

when do i get to meet your dad?

T
toxicgirlOG 2003 ·

If you want to come to central PA to kiss Salvatore's rings you are more than welcome, but then again, nobody likes to come to PA.

tesoro tesoroOG 2001 ·

thats not true. id be in PA everyday if i could. :)

T
toxicgirlOG 2003 · tesoro

Ok, I'll revise that statement... NOBODY likes to come to PA...unless their boyfriend lives here.

tinser tinserOG 2002 · toxicgirl

i love PA!!! I have so much fun there, hanging out in walmart! And it's so pretty, i really do have fun in PA

tesoro tesoroOG 2001 · toxicgirl

hahaha...yeaaaa..thats a definate plus...but i really always have liked PA. cuz theres so much less traffic and people..and it's so pretty, plus its still pretty close to jersey, NYC and LI.

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 · tesoro

nothing is close to LI except for queens. EVERYTHING is close to NJ (except staten island but that's a silly place anyway)

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

Yes! That's it..tomato salad. I can eat that like..forever.

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 ·

i put string beans from my garden in mine too mmm mmm

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

I love tomatoes. Especially with onions and sour cream, salt and pepper. It's the Polish way? I duno, I remember always eating it like that in Poland.

malibu malibuOG 2001 ·

my image of a silician for some reason involves a cute, adorable, fat and bald (ya know with the ring around the back of the head and ears hair) that is so fat and completely bronzed that is playing chess and lecturing me on good food.

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 ·

hah welcome to the family (but no chess)

T
toxicgirlOG 2003 ·

I wouldn't say my Dad is cute or adorable...but he comes close to fitting that description. He isn't fat though, just very square. And he doesn't play chess as much as he used to. Actually, he is a short, square, mostly bald, tan little man who sits on the leather couch watching the Godfather and telling my brother in his accent to stop playing in front of the TV.

malibu malibuOG 2001 ·

see, i love how close i was.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

my favorite is a salad style dealy with tomatos, fresh mozz and roasted red pepppers slices, a bit of olive oil and basil with some italian bread. kill me.

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 ·

You talking about bruschetta? That stuff is awesome.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

Ohh...I just had some of that stuff this afternoon. That stuff is so great.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

similar! but basically the same thing. it's delicious.

malibu malibuOG 2001 ·

hahah. this is good. we make it at the restaurant i work in and i'm so amazed cuz half the staff is italian and have never had it before. i mean, come on people!!

malibu malibuOG 2001 ·

the way my grandfather taught me to eat tomatoes were to pick them outta his garden and slice em up, mayonaise, and pepper. yummiest thing in the summer heat.

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

i love olives

esprit15d esprit15dOG 2003 ·

ME TOO. Are they fruit? Anyway, they are fantabulous, especially black ones. No pizza is complete with them.

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003 ·

olives are my love...

malibu malibuOG 2001 ·

i had a difficult time between strawberreis and grapes but then i thought, "is there anything better than when the green grapes burst in your mouth??" no, not really. these are just stellar.

tesoro tesoroOG 2001 ·

yum, grapes..i like the red MUCH better than the green though.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 stupid ·

above all. my favorite fruit is dan hill.

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 ·
