nothing exists for me but the west coast and the east coast with the exception of ohio (special k =)) & colorado - AVS

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

i know seriously!! everybody's dissin' ohio

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 ·

sadly i think in terms of tmobile coverage (just ask my sisters about how i hear a town name and shout out the area code). i don't enjoy the midwest.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 ·

isn't it weird how they call the mid-west, mid-west when you look on the map it's all east?

englandkid englandkidOG 2003 ·

also the middle east (of the world like asia) really isnt the middle east caues the world is round!

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

This is true. Like..if you're standing in Japan is it "the middle west" or something?

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

For a while freshmen year I had this petition going around to drop the dakotas, ohio..and a few other states.

modestjesse modestjesseOG 2004 ·

The only states that matter are:

New Jersey
New York
Maine
Florida
Texas
California
Arizona
Washington
Alaska
Hawaii
maybe Maryland

The rest can vanish.

Dude, you forgot Vermont, Colorado, and Nevada

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder ·

nevada can go away... as long as reno and las vegas are still there. not that i have any desire to go to either place.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 ·

really? you have no desire to go to las vegas??? wow.....colorado has some GREAT snowboarding areas....a great hockey team....

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 ·

VEGAS BABY VEEEEGAS!!

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder ·

never been to colorado but i definitely want to! las vegas? ehhh... it just all seems so ... surface. i'm all about hanging out with friends. i'm not into the bright lights.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 ·

seriously, its SO different, you don't have to "party" or gamble when you're there, jsut checking out the hotels is enough....it truly is amazing (i'm a fan of vegas, can you tell) lol

perrin perrinOG 2004 ·

Yeah my uncle lives there. As long as you don't gamble it's a great place to visit. They have all kinds of rides and shows you can go see and everything out there is so cheap too.

perrin perrinOG 2004 ·

No it can't my uncle lives there. :-P

perrin perrinOG 2004 ·

No we need Vermont that's where some of my boarding trips are.

ekulu ekuluOG 2002 ·

WHy maine? what's there????

& i agreewith u on California, NY, NJ and hawaii. to the rest, buhbye.

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

hmm, what about massachusettes? boston is a cooool city

and...i hope you meant washington dc when you said washington...because i see the point of dc....but washington? no point....its all rain

and....hmm, connecticut....its tri-state!

and...what about chicago? i mean illinois as a whole isn't important...but is new york state as a WHOLE worth it? I think not!

but, if we are gonna be so picky...than i really don't think nj is necessary ;-)

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 ·

i LOVE boston, it's so great there....its so different

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

Conneticut shouldn't be part of the tri-state..everyone knows that.

Chicago is cool just because of the musical.

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

yeah, seriously....i rarely ever see a conn. license plate...but i see pa license plates nearly everyday, i think they should be tri-state

modestjesse modestjesseOG 2004 ·

You're right, Colorodo should be on that list. I've been to Denver, great city. They've got some great mountains to ski as well.

Vermont should also be on the list because of great skiing too.

Nevada I was debating when I made the list. I didn't add it because of Sodom & Gomorra, err, I mean Reno & Vegas. :P Actually I do want to visit Vegas, I hear it's pretty clean now.

Washington the state. And only because of some great music that has come from area (but if I count only that I should have to add Chicago as well). But Sleepless in Seattle is a classic. And besides, in the words of Eric Draven, it can't rain all the time.

Massachusetts...no. I'm a Yankee fan and Boston is the enemy. It's a great city to visit and I had a great time bar hoping up there, but it doesn't justify the state as a whole.

New York is great because aside from the best city in the world (NYC) its got some great parks as well.

Maine is there because it's beautiful. I enjoyed my trips up there and they've got some good skiing areas.

DC isn't a state, so why would it be on the list?

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

haha, touche on the dc thing...i got carried away

i still think mass deserves to be there...even besides boston its great....its got nantucket, marthas vineyard, all those capes....its a cooool state.

and, i'm sticking to ny being a total waste of space other than the city and the island, haha

perrin perrinOG 2004 ·

I'm with you on the whole NY thing except switch it and reverse it. lol

perrin perrinOG 2004 ·

Oh come on you should have added the armpit of america on there.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 ·

whats that?????

perrin perrinOG 2004 ·

Oh NJ it's the armpit of America. You've never heard that? lol

modestjesse modestjesseOG 2004 ·

I can't beleive you insult your own state. You mind as well move to PA.

perrin perrinOG 2004 ·

Hey that's what New Jersey is called. I can't help that the state I live in is the armpit of america. lol

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 ·

LOL i would think kentucky or some foreign state like that would be considered the armpit since their all stinky states - lol

perrin perrinOG 2004 ·

No unfortunatly not. I'm not totally sure why it's called that but it is. Perhaps someone else knows. I'll have to ask around. lol

perrin perrinOG 2004 ·

ok I was just informed it's because NJ is one of the worst states to live in america. If you take into account traffic and the amount of people, taxes, and a bunch of other factors. This is what I was just told anyway. lol

theremin thereminOG 2002 ·

Actually, it's called the "armpit of America," because of its location. New Jersey is located in a place that would remind you of an armpit. I would think Maryland or Delaware would more so fit the label, but New Jersey has been tagged with the nickname instead.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 · theremin

I don't see where the arm is?

hunkpapap hunkpapapOG 2003 · theremin

actually the us looks like a big chicken. so shouldn't it be called the chickens neck of the us? or that red thing that hangs off a chickens neck of the us...

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

yeah, but nj is stinky too....its got a rep as an "industrial" state...mainly because of places like newark i think

perrin perrinOG 2004 ·

Oh yeah that too. You can sure smell it whenever we have to drive up to Jersey City for the assembly. Ug it stinks.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 ·

really? its that bad? i never knew. i thought newark was the only bad place then the rest of the state was nice.

modestjesse modestjesseOG 2004 · socalgal

Driving through Elizabeth on the Turnpike is stinky. Its a great state, Camden can be a trip though. Camden is worse then Newark. They're actually cleaning up Newark quite a bit. And if the plans for the new Devils arena goes through it will be in Newark as well.

Its the most densily populated state in the US. So traffic is horrible.

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 · modestjesse

we have some really nice state forests and parks, considering that we're so close to a major metropolitan city. we have skiing, hiking, and outlets. what else could anyone want?

oh yeah. that stupid great adventure place you people never stop talking about (ashey boy)

modestjesse modestjesseOG 2004 · skaorsk8

Where do you go skiing in Jersey? Usually I end up in PA when I go.

tinser tinserOG 2002 · skaorsk8

umm, less confusing ROADS...perhaps the ability to make u-turns...would that be too much to ask?

hunkpapap hunkpapapOG 2003 ·

yes and it's been bandied about that swindon is to london what trenton, nj is to.....

deanh77 deanh77Founder ·

any state with a good ski mountain stays. gotta have places to go for snowboarding. this does not include anything east of the missippi and south of pennsylvania (some crazy people tell me they snowboard in North Carolina, whatever...)

So you gotta take Wyoming, Oregon, and North Dakota off that list.

hunkpapap hunkpapapOG 2003 ·

where's the all of the above option...

perrin perrinOG 2004 ·

Yeah what about lets just nuke the world option? :-P

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

this poll shows how small-minded and self-important we all are.

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder ·

you're comment shows how uptight you are, it's just a joke

modestjesse modestjesseOG 2004 ·

I took it seriously. I thought we were planning on just dropping the bomb. Seriously, who's going to miss them?
