I picked addictions. BUT I become irrationally annoyed when someones playing up their allergies and it just goes on and on, forever! SUCK. IT. UP.

Allergies can really suck majorly. I'm always afraid I'm playing up mine but then when the season is over and I feel wonderful I realize how awful I felt.

my jaw cracks and pops and gets sore. sometimes it gets stuck. i think in my case, i really do have TMJ. if it's not that, it's a misshapen jaw. or something.
me too! also, i grind my teeth (so do some of my sisters) and my jaw also does a wacky wave thing when i open and close my mouth like a creaky old screen door.

if it gets stuck, yeah you have TMJ disorder. but i get a lot of patients who tell me that they have TMJ cuz it pops. i really want to say, so does mine big whoop.
yeah i have tmj disorder, i'm actually getting PT for it right now. it was getting so bad over the course of 3 or 4 years that i could barely eat without being in pain. i was getting crazy headaches all the time and crap. if u looked at me straight on u could tell that my whole face was out of alignment from it. but its gotten A LOT better, it's not 100% yet but its slowly improving.

as stated, pt=physical therapy. in my case, i think i recieved one too many shots to the face playing basketball or football, then just aggravating it over the years

Addictions are sometimes just all in your head but most of the time they aren't, we have been talking about addictions in my psych class and it's rather interesting how addictions work.

something someone said this weekend made me feel totaly differently about this topic. Comparing addictions to a void that you are compelled to fill. That void will never be filled no matter how many dragons and snakes you throw into it and it will just eat you up from inside out. And you just have to find a different way to deal with the void. I duno, it was just interesting.
addictions is too general. there are chemical addictions, physical addictions, mental addictions, poop addictions, and then there are FURRIES

seriously, what i mean is there are real physical and pyscological addictions, dependancies, obsessions and compulsions. then there are habitual preoccupations, attachments and fixations. both can be a struggle to deal with but you can form new habits just by practice whereas addiction can be with you for the rest of this system.
