Favorite Way To Enter A Pool

the pool was such a major part of my childhood. there were pike dive contests and swimming races at my friends huge inground pool and crazy whirlpools, chicken fights, volleyball, bumper tubes, wave pools (which we got in a lot of trouble for) stack em high towers and torpedo at our above ground pool.
when I first started swimming, my friend--who couldn't swim well, himself--jumped in to save me when I was drowning one time.
we used to play a game where we would make big waves in the little end of the pool to drown our sisters. ;)
we used to also do this cool jump my cousin invented, where your head wouldn't actually go under water. GREAT for wave making.
flips came shortly after dives. In no time, we were doing front flips into the pool, or onto floatable snow tubes. Hoodwink would remember that.
then we discovered the high dive at Hackettstown public pools. Flips became perfected. we were doing double flips from the lowest diving board! 1 and 1/2's off the medium and high diving boards! I remember going just to show off for the little kids.
I remember thinking those high dives were like 100 feet high. I never got the courage to jump off them. Of course, I couldn't swim then and I can't swim now, so it'll probably never happen.
awww, no. you could take some lessons.
I'm too old for floaties now.
my mom cant swim and because of this every year when my brother and i were kids my mom signed us up for swimming lessons but we never improved. Dan always got to do intermediate and every year i had to do beginner. let me tell you, im an excellent kicker and doggie paddler!
todd i'm pretty sure i told you the story of how i learned how to swim... i fell into our pool in the fall. it was covered, but not hardcore (like we did in winter). i was standing on a woodpile looking over the edge to see how many leaves were on the bottom and i fell in. no one was outside so it's a good thing i figured out how to swim to the deck and pull myself out. it seems odd that we have to learn how to swim when we spend the first 9 months of our life in fluid.
ugh none of this works for me
i put in one toe at a time and it takes me like a half hour to actually submerge
i don't like being in cold water
i'm a big diver. i just jump on in and get'r over with. cannonballs are reserved solely for group disruption.
last summer i met a boy who couldnt float in water. i didnt believe it. but he really does sink like a stone. he's got no fat on his legs since he races bikes . didnt know there were people who couldnt float. makes sense but i was unaware.
bring him to me. i will do testing
I used to be able to float, but now every time I do, my legs always sink.....it's really weird, I've tried for years to float, and the upper half of my body does fine, but the legs.....it's a no go.
testing
I've never been able to float. :(***
in aruba you could float sooo easily cause of the increased salt content of the water... it was nuts, i could lay on my back and almost fall asleep... but then again i got the spare tire that is like my floatie... lol
I don't float at all. Sink like a stone. Always have.
whats "pencil" and "jack knife"???
pencil = make yourself like a pencil in jump in, straight down, feet first.
jack knife = alternate cannonball; hold one knee up and jump in. the leading foot breaks the water, and you lean back or bend at the hips as you go in to create a splash
OH NICE!!! muchas gracias!!!
de nada!
I guess EAST COAST just kicks WEST COAST BOOTY in all the different cool styles we have of jumping into the pool. Sans "pencil". lol. That's just gay.
BAHAHAHA!!! Too funny!! :)
you east coasters just have too much time on your hands to make up names of styles of pool jumping....LOL
oh why don't you go tanning and eat some sprouts
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! lol sprouts ahahahahahahaha

haha it's cool hun, i thought it was rad. i was gonna comment but then got side tracked...lol
