eZabel Legacy

Brett arrived on eZabel in March 2004 with exactly one mission: find a vocalist for his punk rock band. His very first comment — "Can you sing well?" — set the tone for a guy who didn't waste words. Based in Stanhope, NJ, he played in a band with Bran Zabel and spent his eZabel months haunting the Music Talk forum, posting about punk rock and scouting for talent. He tried to recruit violetboregaurd, offering her a tryout and noting that their practice spot was close enough to the D&D on Route 206 that "you could spit on the house that we practice at from there." He traded notes with ophelia about local bands and studios, crossed paths with modestjesse and perrin in the music threads, and occasionally surfaced outside his lane — once declaring to forrestina that there would be "no talk of cheese or dairy products in this forum!" His band's sound was shaping up to be Strung Out meets Face to Face: "punk rock, plain and simple." His last comment, on a journal entry in October 2004, was pure fitd: "you are a funny dude! i just pooped an oscar meyer weiner mobile!" He came for the music, stayed for a few laughs, and left when he'd said what he needed to say.

eZabel Personality Type: ESTP — "The Band Scout." Brett used eZabel like a classified ad with a sense of humor — direct, no-nonsense, and always circling back to the music. Sometimes the best community members are the ones who know exactly what they came for.
