eZabel Legacy
Matt Dellaquila from Long Island was the engineering student who lurked for 377 logins but saved his words for the moments that hit hardest. His journal entry about graduating college — written at the end of a sleepless night in his dress shirt and long black coat, three cups of coffee deep, walking the hallway he'd walked for four years — remains one of the most genuinely moving pieces of writing on eZabel. He described the struggle, the self-discovery, presenting his senior project (a "web controlled switch") to a half-empty room after letting other groups go first, and the quiet realization that his friends came back just to watch him finish. His other journal was equally stream-of-consciousness gold: buying an eight-foot-tall bed and feeling like an elf, listening to Incubus turntables, feeding a whole loaf of bread to his dad's coworker's dog, and wondering if you could see music traveling through the air. His closest connection on the site was punkprincess, who he traded teasing barbs with about redheads and car accidents, and he was tight with the thefunkyfresh and g.f.s.rocks crew. He attended eight eZabel events — parties, manhunt games, go-karting, and a Yankees day — proving that even the quietest posters showed up in person when it counted.
eZabel Personality Type: INTP — "The Late-Night Thinker." Matt was the guy who said almost nothing online but when he finally sat down to write, poured out something so honest and rambling and alive that it stuck with you long after you closed the browser — an engineer's mind with a poet's restless heart.
