eZabel Legacy
One of eZabel's earliest members, joining in July 2001 from Ontario, she brought a self-deprecating creative streak to the site during its first year. She joked about the landscaping business before admitting she would much rather sit in her dad's store playing on the computers in "those really cool swivel chairs with the wheels on the bottom." When flomojopoanode put out a call for members to share their websites, she was the first to volunteer — blushing in embarrassment while linking to her Bolt page, where she posted digital art made in Paint Shop Pro and "rants and raves about life in general." She congratulated iwz on his engagement with genuine warmth ("whoohoo! so, all us ezabelers are invited to the wedding, right?"), reacted to thefunkyfresh's Michael Jackson dream with delighted horror, and joined punkprincess's threads with easy camaraderie. Her last comment, in May 2002, endorsed a set of "very good evil plans" as a "fabulous mission" — and then she was gone, leaving behind a handful of comments that captured the DIY spirit of early-2000s web culture.
eZabel Personality Type: INFP — "The Shy Artist." She showed up with a Bolt page, a swivel chair, and an honest admission that her digital art looked like "complete crap." The early internet was built by people exactly like her.
