eZabel Legacy
Sal Salpietro from Toms River, New Jersey, was eZabel's resident rock-and-roll conscience. A member of the band ClonePod, he joined in February 2002 and used the site mostly to promote upcoming shows — correcting set times, posting venue details, making sure nobody showed up on the wrong day. But when Sal did weigh in on something beyond band logistics, he brought a thoughtful, unpretentious energy that people responded to. His passionate defense of Attack of the Clones — arguing that corny dialogue was part of what made Star Wars Star Wars — drew replies from ilikebirds and thatdarngirl. He debated cannabis legalization with a shrug and a fair-minded "who knows." He mourned the impossibility of finding a reasonably priced copy of Final Fantasy II for SNES. He weighed in on a local crime that happened blocks from his house with genuine, unfiltered shock. Then, after 2002, Sal essentially vanished — popping back five years later in 2007 to marvel that eZabel still existed, prompting superhero to reply with "oh man sal do i miss you." He attended multiple eZabel parties and manhunt games, and theremin was still trying to track him down years later through his ClonePod website.
eZabel Personality Type: ISTP — "The Roadie." Eleven comments, a Social Butterfly badge from sharing threads with 29 members, and a habit of reading far more than he ever posted — Sal was the guy who showed up reliably in person but kept his online presence lean and purposeful. When he did speak up, it was worth reading.
