999...is that like our 911?

yeah, in the uk, it's 999...which i never understood. i saw the '999' label on an old avengers episode...on a rotary phone. in an emergency, that would take sooooo looooong. why not make it 111?

hahaha, funny observation, but one fatal flaw: who uses those STUPID rotary phones anyway?? somebody that does DESERVES to have to wait the additional 3.1 seconds for help to arrive

i don't know anyone with a rotary phone now! i meant back in the 60's... they assigned '999' as the emergency phone numbers when EVERYONE used rotary phones. (i wonder how many people got as far as...
