not necessarilly. racists are people that hate others unconditionally, without taking any knowledge of that person into account. If you hate somebody because of the way they think or act, that is different because you know something about that person.
there is a difference between prejudice and racists... one word is spelled p-r-e-j-u-d-i-c-e to other is spelled r-a-c-j-i-s-t-s

yeah there is definitely a distinction between types of sins. like in ancient israel if you did something wrong, the penalty wasn't always death by stoning. and if you're a little kid, if you do something bad, your punishment is based on how bad you were. so if you accidentally curse or do something stupid like that, even though it's a sin, it's probably not as bad a sin as if you went on a shooting spree or started dealing drugs or opened up a brothel.
