actually, it would help to know what you're into, besides academia. give us an idea. what kinda food do you dig? do you like karoake? do you like to dance? give us an idea.
Frankly, it would help if I knew what I was into. Baseball definitely falls into that category, so I'm definitely going to go to a Yankees game when I'm in NYC and a Red Sox game when I'm in Boston. I like going to movies, and I'm hoping to be able to go to a few when I'm back in Boston. (I might even be able to get in free when I'm there.) Other than that I can't really think of anything that stands out in my mind.
As far as food goes, pizza is number one on my list when I'm back east. I also love Japanese food, especially sushi.
I've never done karaoke, and I've never really danced so I have no idea about either of those.
Okay..I know the BEST sushi place! My sister and I always go there becasue the O-bento boxes are cheap and they give you sooo much wonderful yummy food. It's on St. Marcs Place.
i've never eaten sushi....
hmmmm. yes, new york pizza and bagels are unlinke any other!! it has something to do with the water and elevation level. (original or famous) ray's is the best though. its on 12th street and 6th avenue. i have memories of friday nites there when i was 5 and my dad worked in the city. oh so good!!
whats to be wary about broadway shows? as long as you dont see caberet or taboo..obviously wacked out stuff..they are amazing..phantom of the opera, 42nd street, crazy for you, les mis, jekyll and hyde..etc. etc.
the village is the most fun place i think to walk around and shop and my favorite place to eat is little italy.
if you stay in jersey or long island you can hop on the train for like 12bucks and you're in NYC in under an hour from central jersey and central to west LI.
Cabaret..totally wanted to see that.
i wanna see Nine and Movin Out and Wicked too. waiting for the after broadway sales. anyone up for Thoroughly Modern Millie there's an amazing sale going on and i think i'm gonna go!
when you go see movin out let me know i am so in!
Phantom of the Opera sounds like it would be awesome to see. I might try to go if I have the time (and money).
Hmm. If it really doesn't take that long to get into the city by train, then I'll probably just stay somewhere in Jersey. That'll give me an excuse to drive down to visit the Princeton congregation again. BTW, does anyone on here live near Princeton, or possibly even go to that congregation?
no but i have a friend who works there
the train from NJ is more than 12 bucks, dude. for me, it happens to be 13 PLUS that stupid $3 for the path. THEN a metrocard. wow
Ooooh..can we make an event to go dancing in the city to a place that like..the underaged population of ezabel can go? I really feel like dancing..Forreste and I are going to show off our skills!
we used to go swing dancing in the city every sunday... but now its turned into this huge group of lame people that go the first sunday of every month... it was good while it lasted.
oh boy how did i get involved. i mean how many times can i do the roger rabbit. will you never be satisfied??
Never!!! It'll be funnnn
