SOMEBODY'S going to have to bring some level-headedness to this journal and I guess it's going to be me...
Like Mike mentioned, we have all done bad things in the past. But if we repent (which is turning away from our wrong-doings) and live our lives the way Jehovah requires, then all the past should be forgotten. Jehovah forgets and forgives (I guess He doesn't really forget it, but He doesn't hold it against us) so who are WE to keep harping on it?
When someone is disfellowshipped and later reinstated, do we go up to them and say "Oh, like you were disfellowshipped 10 years ago so you're not acceptable to Jehovah"? Or do we not even think of the time they were out of the Truth.
I had to help my dad appreciate this after he was reinstated. He was out for 30 years and he deeply regrets those 3 decades. I kept telling him to look ahead to the future, because if we keep harping on the past, we'll be discouraged and ripped apart, which is what Satan wants us to be.
In short, yeah, we can regret the wrong things we did... but bringing those things up over and over again and holding those things against someone is a Satanic attitude.
yeah i don't like those people that look down on those that have been reproofed or df'ed or whatever, id like to lay some smack down on those type of people thinkin they all high and mighty. The person made a mistake and realized it and is now doin good again, who are they to judge them? People should look at them selves and stop hatin on others!
