hey u know Maryln Monroe was a size 14! in the fifties it was *in* to be zaftig and then the 60s came along with Twiggy and ruined everything...

reaf Jan 16, 2004

she doesnt look like a size 14 though

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003

ya she does... she was super curvy! Little in the middle but she got much back...

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003

also size 14 isn't as huge as some people may think. And it differs in pants and shirts.. a size 12 shirt may look like i'm wearing a sailboat. I comfortably can wear a size 11-12 jeans without looking like they're huge on me. heh. And then I can also fit into sizes 7-9 just fine... i duno, I don't care what the size on the pants says... of coruse it was nicer when it said.. 4.. 6.. haha i'll get back to that someday! haha new system..

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

I'm with you on that. Size really doesn't matter. It all depends on what fits. Some sizes do vary depends on the designer. But it does sadden me how woman are viewed in this world. I'm thankful curvy is in, that shows a little change in the structure.

beachbum beachbumOG 2002

hahaha. go to old navy, i love their pants-according to them i'm a 4/6. not that it matters much, but like you said, it's just nicer.

malibu malibuOG 2001

that's true. i used to be a size 14 but i don't ever think i looked as fat as youmight think. i have a larger bone structure and i'm pretty tall. 5'7" but closing in on 5'8" so my hip bones always jutted out that i needed bigger pants. that is why there's belts. but when i lost all my weight and was a size 5, mom said that was enough cuz i was shrunken and looked frightening.

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002

i used to be a size 18...not something im proud of...

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

The key words are "used to be"

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002

yes but "used to" can turn into..."i am"

D
dgiaimoOG 2003

Yeah, well, I don't think you even want to know what size I used to be.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

is it bad? I used to be big too, but I'm tall so you really couldn't tell as much, but now that I'm on the lighter side, i feel the difference and more energetic! Like i said the key words are "used to be" so it looks like we've taken the turn for better health!

D
dgiaimoOG 2003

Yeah. It was really bad and it wasn't even that long ago. And I still have a fair amount of weight to lose. I'm not sure if I should post this, but if you really want to know just how bad it was, then here is a picture of me from my cousin's wedding on Feb. 15 of last year. (I'm the guy in the blue shirt standing on the right of the picture. Here is a picture of me today.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003

you've come a long way, bro

D
dgiaimoOG 2003

Thanks. Actually, looking back at old pictures of myself it's hard for me to believe I actually looked like that.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

WOW, good for you!!! I'm STOKED for you! I bet you feel SO much better about yourself huh? Is it all through diet and exercise? Keep up the good work hun!

reaf reafOG 2002

YAY someone else uses the word stoked other than MEEEEEE

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 reaf

hahah...i havent' used stoked in a while...hmm...

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 skaorsk8

i could totally see you using that word. saying stoked kinda matches the way your voice sounds. "dude, i sold like 2456 phones, i'm stoked."

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 reaf

Funny thing, i still use "rad" actually we all do here - lol

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder

wow... brother that is really impressive. that's a real accomplishment.

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002

tinser tinserOG 2002

wow, nice job!!

reaf reafOG 2002

ya lucy was like a size 12 also, and it shocked me cause i thought she at the most was like a 4 or 6,, I must have a real bad eye for sizes, i think i only know HUGE and xsmall other than that i would loose if i had to stand at a booth and guess peoples clothing size, cause seriuosly, even though she was curvey it seemed like it wasnt much and it seemed like she was inshape. and they had such tiny wastes! I duno woman back then even if they were bigger sizes, i dont think they were fat. or maybe i just have bad eye perception, ha ha

malibu malibuOG 2001

i was thinking the same thing cuz she looked pretty and it was news to me that she was plus sized.
