The Rangers have a bunch of superstars and no defense. And they're too old. Unfortunately, Messier is going to retire after this year, because he and Leetch are two of the old guys worth having. Maybe the rest aren't OLD, but they are past their prime. Case in point, Jagr, Lindros, Bure. And the other players who have been All Stars are way too inconsistent as Rangers, like Nedved and Kovalev. When you look at the 94 Rangers, they had beautiful team chemistry. You had tough wingers like Adam Graves and Steve Larmer, who could put the puck in the net, young gun Alexei Kovalev, the grizzled confident vets like Messier and Glenn Anderson, the solid D with Leetch, Kevin Lowe, and Sergei Zubov, and solid role players like Nemchinov, Tikkanen, MacTavish, and Matteau. And solid goaltending with my all time favorite goalie, Mike Richter, and my all time favorite backup goalie, Glenn Healy.
Now we have a bunch of superstars who can't co-exist on the ice. That's why our best line usually includes a group of blue collar guys like Holik, Messier, Lundmark, and Barnaby.
back in 94...my favorite (who you left out for some reason...whyyyy?) was definitely beukeboom. crazy guy, just hittin everyone, and didn't really care.
Was Domi on that team? That guy was a nut.
i love saying his name itss jsut sooo....booo-k-a-boom! lol
Yeah all the players they have gotten are past their prime. Not that they are bad but just not anywhere near as good as they once were. They just can't seem to play with each other either. I think they all just want to be the star and that causes problems as well. They just have no chemistry when they play. I think the Rangers should start from square one and start rebuilding their team instead of getting all these old all-stars. They aren't going to go anywhere if they keep doing that.
