yeah, but since she only has 128mb, i'm guessing it's an older PC that uses PC133 ram or so, and that's more expensive nowadays. i don't think you can use newer PC2100+ ram in older motherboards, right? ??
Hmm... You're probably right. It would help if she told us more about her machine.
ok, its 500 mghz, hp pavillion 8565c....i think its from 2000...has win 98 now, pentium III...umm, is that good? What other info do you need? i'm not sure what kind of ram it uses...
Let's see... According to the hp website, as far as memory goes, you can add another 256MB by adding two more 128MB DIMMs, and that would max out the memory. That would run you about $100 at compusa. (This is assuming the current 128MB you have is on a single DIMM.) You might be able to get it cheaper somewhere else, though.
Honestly, though, if I were in your position and could afford it, I'd just get a new computer.
yeah, that's what i'm thinking...we'll probably keep this computer until the end of the year...i'll just reformat it for now and hold out...then i'll have windows xp with the new anyway
(this is my parents computer anyway...so i'm not gonna spend a whole lot of money on it, when i can put it towards my own laptop)
