oh...my parents just informed me that they put more ram in the computer already...so we do have 256ram afterall...now do you guys think i should upgrade my windows? and is there anywhere cheaper to...

That's probably enough memory, though adding another 128MB wouldn't hurt. You're in college, right? You should be able to get an academic version of XP Professional. That should be somewhat cheaper.

You don't have to get it from your own college bookstore. Any will do. Or you can get it from the site that Ian linked in his response.
