No, not at all, actually. The area I live in isn't country, although there are farms nearby. But I'm about 10 to 15 minutes away from 3 different malls, Paramount's Kings Island is 5 minutes from my house, Cincinnati is 20 minutes away, and there are tons of other cool things to do around here. But Cincinnati is smaller than other cities, so there's no subway, and the city is so small you don't really need to take a cab from one place to another, so the demand for cabs isn't that great. It's just different when you're so used to a city being one way your entire life, and you go to a bigger city, and your whole perspective changes.
