I always wondered about that, is it appropriate to wear a denim skirt to the meetings? A sister in our hall gave a talk with one last week. It just made me think. It's no different then me wearing a nice pair of jeans with my suit jacket, shirt and tie.
Thoughts?
denim skirts are out. you should've taken that sister the B-school, Jesse.
heyyy i happen to like my denim skirt.
*ahem* B-SCHOOL!
hey! I only wear it to bookstudies!
What's up with that reasoning? A bookstudy is no different then a regular meeting. hehe, but I think everyone does the same thing. Sometimes I wont wear a jacket to the bookstudy because its more of a relaxed atmosphere.
B-SCHOOL for you too!
why whats wrong with my denim skirt, i like my legs hairy this way
no jacket?? i only do this in the summer. i dont' know why.
yeah i feel sorry for you brothers when its hot and you have to wear the pants and jackets
well i was raised that we couldn't wear denim skirts to meetings other than the bookstudy lol
i wear mine all the time, service, book study, sunday meeting, school and service meeting... but i'm not allowed to wear it to conventions or the memorial becuase for some reason, my mother thinks you should be "dressier" for those occasions
heyyy she wouldn't let me do that over the age of like 7
Thats cause by the time the younger kids get to those ages parents are just too tired to argue anymore. :P
I think that's pretty much the case with all families. The younger kids always get away with more then the older kids did it.
except mine
I don't see how it's not appropriate. That's like saying a nice cotton skirt isn't appropriate because you could wear a nice pair of cotton pants to the meeting.
I have several denim skirts that I wear and I've never heard a word said against them.
That's my point, whats the difference between a denim skirt and denim jeans? They both look nice but I couldn't get away with wearing that to the meeting.
I'm not knocking it, so don't think me the dress nazi. :P
it all depends on the denim....length....color....style....i wear denim skirts to the meeting but it's nothing thats tacky or tasteless, so it all depends
In pioneer school I remember this sort of was discussed, and the CO's both said that denim is not appropriate for service, because it's too much of a "relaxed" type fabric, and we're supposed to be "holy" or something like that. I don't remember what they said about meetings though. The rough part was, there was a sister wearing like, all denim, and she was there that day, and it was one of the days that we went out in service that morning... eeeek...
this means i can't wear my denim suit anymore. dang. i loved airbrushed white tiger on the back...
duuuudes. we're not supposed to wear jeans. haven't you seen the pictures in the Watchtower? only the gangsters and dopeheads wear jeans. All brothers and sisters young and old wear khakis!!!.
in the past the Watchtower preferred no sneakers as well.
I always laugh at that..is that wrong? To laugh I mean. I can't help it. I don't think I know any obsessive compulsive Khaki wearers.
don't you know dan hill?
woah...that's really old...hahaha...i cant' believe you knew that julia...now i'm worried...
i just know that anytime i have seen you or a picture of you, that you were wearing kacki's. if there's a joke cool but i just observed it. i mean, even when we were playing manhunt you wore kackis.
wow. I just realized that too, Megan had a gathering when she was house sitting and I think Dan was the only person wearing khaki's. I remember thinking to myself, "we are all so worthless wearing our jeans like the dope-fiends and gangsters, while dan is upright in his khaki wearing"... or something to that effect.
so does this mean dan has a bit more style than most?
No he's just a khaki addict. lol
back then i had some crazy style...
ok REALLY here is the deal. back in ...98...? when you all were wearing sweatpants and jncos, i retired mine for some Gap Khakis. This was before all those stupid commercials, before the bethelites caught on...anyway, i digress. i was at bergen community college, the only kid wearing pleated pants with cuffs (wrinkle free, mind you), and then gettin some nice van huesen shirts. every day. (sometimes I ask...why did i dress like that? I don't know).
Then I moved back from England...and I was confused...because now everyone wore khakis...but some people wore cargos...but why are people wearing tight pants...while I was in Paris I stopped at H&M, and, of course, all the clothes were mad tight and ghey. so i bought some khakis made out of airbag material in a size 46 waist. and I wore those, because, i was still new and confused. (observe me wearing these in the ezabel party pictures).
So uhm there's a story. I think there's more to it but I'm not really sure. Although if I still have your attention, I'd like to say that Wrinkle Free Khakis are the best thing since sliced bread. Ball them up, throw them in the corner at night, on the floor - they look BRAND NEW the next morning. Wow.
i'm so
A) taking you shopping when you come out here
OR
B) sending you some things from here
poor guy.....LOL
Oh oh! Take ME shopping!
of course!!! I LUV to shop!!!
i love h&m. it is definetley time for a shopping trip there.
i wish we had one here =( the only one i've been to is the one in boston
the one in paramus, nj at the garden state plaza is awesome and the one in nyc is totally different. i don't really like the one in nyack, ny at the palisades center.
lynz, member when we went to the 3-D movie theater and the floor had carpeting and that HUMONGOUS h&m and the boys wouldn't let us go in there? jerks. i wanna go back there. it's the largest one i've ever seen. but i'm just so used to going to the one in paramus. i can't wait til they put one in rockaway but then everyone will start wearing it. which then defeats the purpose.
come visit me...palisades mall is right near me.
Yeah! Supposedly that's the biggest one (nyack) but that definetly can't be because I've been in the NYC one and that's three floors. WAAAAY too much clothes to even look through.
we NEED to go very soon. i am runnig out of clothes.
last time i saw you, you were wearing some baggy jeans. way to mix it up.
