wow! so funny that this happened... i had a similar experience last week! We have a ticketing system that let's you send emails directly from it, however it has a weakness in that you can change the "from" field to any email address. So to bust on somebody else I wrote a note "from" the boss of the helpdesk to another analyst with the subject "just a heads up" and the text "you're fired". Unfortunately it backfired. The kid REPLIED to it, like INSTANTLY. fortunately his reply was "thanks" and not profanity or anything else. Before I could explain to him that it was a joke and get him to recall the message, the boss calls and asks, uh, what's going on here? I had to explain what i did... man did i feel stupid!! fortunately i didn't get in trouble though. phew, close call.
