another good one is The Minister's Black Veil by Hawthorne.
It's really kinda creepy but in a non-obvious way. I also enjoyed To Build a Fire by Jack London. Takes you right into the guys mind, very interesting.
i didn't like The Minister's Black Veil.... we read it last year and yea i just didn't get into it
yeah i remember not likeing it. interesting but not good.
yea, it's defiantly weird.....but if someone tried that today he would be completely ostracized & forced to live out his life as a hermit. In hawthorne's story the man is feared & respected by the people.
basicly i just find it interesting that the guy doesn't get burned as a witch or something like that...it all ends up having the opposite affect.
