Funny thing about this. I've seen firsthand what you are talking about here. It's crazy.
I'm not sure if there's a "right" or "wrong" way to go about it, but honestly, I like my method. I had been crushing on my now husband since I was 14. I finally decided he was out of my leauge, and I moved on. 7 years later, he decides he had a thing for me, so we gave it a go. Now we've been happily married for a year an a half. Now, I didn't act hard to get or anything. I kinda just never thought about it, and was happy just being his friend. I think that is the best way to start all relationships.
I also say, girls should stop being dumb. I know I'm a girl too, but I'm also guilty of having been dumb in my lifetime as well. :)
