awesome! i love flying to/from islip! its so small, its way more convenient

starshiptrooper Jul 17, 2004

we're flying out of there(Islip) TODAY b/c Jet Blue isn't using that airport yet so we are goin on Southwest. I'm really glad Jet blue is gonna use it in the future, I hate goin to JFK!

yeah, jfk is such a production....with islip, you're in and out...almost feels like a private airport and forget laguardia or newark

starshiptrooper starshiptrooperOG 2003

Jkf would be my second choice, but the other two u metioned-never again!
Much less air traffic with Islip too!

tinser tinserOG 2002

yeah, same thing i said...jfk is do-able. Newark takes forever to get to and you have to pay tolls...i never flew out of it, but my boyfriend did and he got delayed and missed his connection....i guess that could happen anywhere...but it was still a disaster

and laguardia cancelled my flight and lost my luggage...and the employees were cranky and completely uninformative

you know whats interesting? MSN rated JFK, Laguardia, and Newark the 3 worst airports in the country! Yay, for NY travel!

Interesting you mentioned that about those 3 airports. The 3 are all run by the same entity (Port Authority of New York and New Jersey). Many people refer to them as the Government Mafia. Anyways last years report by the airline industry is that the best airline is JetBlue, followed by Continental and Southwest. I would also recommend if you are in Europe flying either Lufthansa or RyanAir. Those airlines are great and not to mention Virgin Atlantic in Europe and Virgin in Australia.

tinser tinserOG 2002

i've flown virgin to england and thought it was completely amazing...best airline ever

southwest and jetblue don't go enough places though! but continental is good

yeah, thats really interesting about them all being owned by the same "entity"...i think somebody needs to run them out of town!

aviator aviatorOG 2004

well yeah. Southwest has been around for like 20 years and is prioritized as a low fare domestic carrier. JetBlue has been around for about 5 years and is still a baby as far as airlines goes. It has a lot of growing to do. However with the addition of 200 aircraft coming to it and revenues that will soar in the billions as far as business goes we are talking about it eventually becoming a top 10 world carrier.
