Tube monitors are getting cheaper as we speak because the market is trying to push LCDs, notice how many HP/Dell/Compaq/etc systems come with a monitor and the package is only like 400 bucks.

Highly recommend KDS trinton monitors if you are looking for cheap/quality, they use sony triniton flat tubes which are really great viewing quality.
