You need dual layer medium, IIRC, DVD+R can only be in dual layer on this drive. About 12 bucks a disc, write once, better do it right.

So far from reviews I read, the media you use could cause problems.

The nice thing about this drive (as most drives too) though is I can through anything in there, even a regular 40X CDRW or CDR.
