Maybe your just a good listener, and it sounds like this is what she spends a lot of her time thinking about and wants to talk about it.
You prolly have that certain "social worker" quality about you, my mom IS a social worker and has passed that mentality to me. You have to be strong. People like that, who talk about all the stuff going on in their lives are usually looking for someone to help them with everything. Do what you can to the extent that you want to but don't be a door mat.
