(wow i'm the first guy to comment in here)
i hate to say it, but I have to agree with your mom on this one. Even though you like this person, I think its still a crush until something comes of it. Even though a crush is, yes, infatuation, it doesn't mean it doesn't have a basis or merit. Yes, a crush is temporary and will wear off after a while, but think of a couple thats been happily married for years. at one point, that might have started as a "crush". the crush has passed, but has since been replaced by something a whole lot more meaningful.
I totally see what you're saying...this is just my weird way of seeing things. I like it but no matter what, everything has it's inescapable down side.
I just feel that the word has negative conotation and I don't like it because when it passes I have to step back out of my perspective and start all over again:
"Awww you have a crush!"
"darnit!" Hahaha
saying crush sounds juvenile to you? i think there will come a time when you will get past that.
wow, I didn't say that but that's what I was thinkin. It's prolly cuz I am a juvenile haha and I have this complex. I'm always trying to prove myself and I never wanna seem like a youngin to my family. So there I am, kneeling at the feet of my mom persuading her and telling her how it could work out, in effect persuading myself..THAT'S IT! I just figured it out..perhaps I have too much faith in something before it unfolds.
youre not a juvenile, but you are in a growing/proving stage. right now, you are a lil sensitive about these issues but you will get past it. trust.
