i think this movie is a stupid idea... whats the point of a remake??

It isn't a remake. It's a new adaption of the book. The writer of the screen play that'll be used hasn't seen the movie, only read the book.

or just make one big loooong movie. id watch it. im glad it looks like they are staying in the spirit of the book. roald dahl was one melancholy dude. matilda with danny devito was pretty well done, i think.
