first movie had a lot of differences from the book. (I just recently re-read it thanks to forreste!) For one, I think only the oompa-loompas sing, and they aren't those sad green-and-orange litt...

well, in the version I have, from the pictures, you can't tell they're black. I'll have to go back and re-read the descriptions. according to that article you posted, the text was revised.
