I have lots of memories of songs while riding in that weird trunk seat in the station wagon. A Bangles song comes to mind but I don't remember the name. I didn't care so much about music at that time. I was too busy trying to convince my Dad to let me wear neon Umbro shorts.

my dad wouldn't let me wear them cuz he thought they were immodest. he said it was too easy for boys too look up my pants and see my underwear with umbros.
your dad is sooo italian! (am i right?) my dad had a rule against sheer black stockings. black opaque tights were okay but not sheer stockings.
