So I've been thinking about building a PVR. I don't really know much about linux, or mythTV, or Freevo, or these winPVR cards you can buy. What should I look at? Where can I find reviews and comparisons of these things?
Is it better to buy the card or just make a dedicated system? (card for sale):

man, I've been so busy lately, haven't had time to work on this, but I got some stuff so I think I'm gonna try to finish this up this week. I was in Linux-config he!! trying to install Fedora Core 2 with drivers for EPIA's integrated mpeg2 decoder, so I might just try KnoppMyth again, or do a dual boot to try to get this thing up.
I'm so lost. It's all greek to me, sorry! I am checking out that byopvr site, though.
cool. ok let me translate.
Fedora Core = a free Linux distribution based off/supported by RedHat
EPIA = the mini-itx form factor motherboard/cpu combo from VIA
mpeg2 decoder = chip doodad on the EPIA that makes watching videos faster than just using software
KnoppMyth = explained in original post
okay, much better! Thanks!
