One time there was an emergency where someone was bleeding and unconscious and the 3 other people present were FREAKING OUT and they just kept passing the phone from person to person because no one could speak clearly to the 911 operator and then I took the phone and totaly calmly described the situation. And I think I even cleaned up the blood. And tried to calm everyone down. About a week later I got the post-tramautic stress thing... this happened at night and like for months afterwards I was like, afraid of the dark. This was almost 10 years ago ... thank goodness nothing even close to its intensity and horribleness has happened since.
something similar happened to me. rollerblading w/ a friend down in georgia she went ahead of me and when i turned the corner i saw her at the end of the cul de sac unconscious in a pool of blood. the blood was coming from somewhere on her head but it took me a while to find the spot b/c she was covered head to toe. i didn't remember the address friends we were staying w/ but a lady passing by gave me a clean sock to help stop the bleeding and i described the house we were staying in. all i could do was try to remember all the first aid i had learned (it came in handy). after about 8 hrs in the ER, then i cried.
wow, that's really rough
