Among other things, I notice voice. A girl's voice can tell me quickly whether we'll even stay friends. Does that sound stupid? I don't mean like...a girl's voice telling me "I do (or do not...

originalsnob May 10, 2005

It doesn't sound stupid* but, a little i[suspect]i. Do you mean if they have a certain tone (ex. edgy, irritated) when they're talking with you? I could understand that. If you feel that you kn...

flomojopoanode May 10, 2005

no, before I can detect tones. The way a woman speaks, and the sound of her voice really effect me.

web-toedchloe May 10, 2005

Does that mean you like my sexy comment-giving voice? ;)

originalsnob May 10, 2005

This made me laugh so hard! It's true. When we get these sudden drops in our voice like "mmmm hmmm, you know that was smooth."

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

girls have different tones in their voices depends on who they're talking to.....(don't you agree ladies)

i have different tones.....like the "i'm fond of you" tone......"i wanna get my way" tone...."uh oh i'm in trouble" tone.....and the "feisty latina" tone. LOL

I totally understand what you mean. I've heard them all used. But I'm not talking about tones. Not really.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

a voice.....is that not a tone?

flomojopoanode flomojopoanodeFounder

I think voice is all encompassing. The overall. A broader scope than just tone. You may use tones of voice, but you still have your overall voice quality in each tone, which effects the way you speak. And that's what I notice.

do you mean if they sound ditzy or like a valley girl or if they have a more serious or jovial way of speaking which can indicate underlying personality traits?

flomojopoanode flomojopoanodeFounder

lol!

Gina, remember? You were so valley (not ditzy) the other day on the phone for a couple seconds.

Nah, I don't mean that. But I don't like when people sound ditzy. That does turn me off.

Let me think of an example of what I'm talking about.

okay, I used to like this one girl, and she had a very unique, kinda soft, calming voice. It got slightly squeaky when she got excited, but not annoyingly so. I loved her voice. I loved her.

Before that, there have been girls who are attractive, but I didn't pursue, because their voice was annoying, too squeaky, too scratchy...whatever. But I'm usually attracted to girls that have either an ultra smooth voice, or girls with a slightly different voice--not a normal voice, but slightly sqeaky or scratchy.

Does this clear anything up?

beachbum beachbumOG 2002

gotcha

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

HAHAHAHA yeah that was funny because i didn't even realize it.

beachbum beachbumOG 2002

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

originalsnob originalsnobOG 2004

sunshyne sunshyneOG 2004
