I really liked it.
Donovan and I saw an 11:30 show the night before we left for vacation - so we got like 2 hours of sleep that night, but it was worth it.
Parts I liked:
How R2 is such a punky little robot.
How Yoda fought Palpatine.
The wookie planet and Chewbacca; and how Chewy knew yoda and the wookies protected him.
How Obi Wan leaves Anakin half-dead, because he can't bear to kill him.
Parts I didn't like:
How stupid Padme is through the whole movie - first for keeping her marriage with Anakin a secret (anyone who knows them must realize they live together); second for not saying anything when the senate gives Palpatine authority (and she says, "So this is how liberty dies--with thunderous applause."); third for not trying to live even though she gave birth (like after having twins, the only thing she's thinking about is stupid Anakin?).
How Anakin lies to Padme about not killing everyone even though he's supposed to be turning to the dark side to save her.
How Samuel Jackson doesn't just kill Palpatine when he has the chance
Parts that were explained:
Obviously, why Anakin turned to the dark side and why he was mostly machine.
How R2 remembers everything that happened in the first 3 episodes, but C3PO doesn't (Obi Wan asks that his memory be erased).
How Obi Wan ends up on the same planet as Luke.
Why Leia is a Princess.
Why Yoda had to go into exile.
Yeah, in all, I really liked it. I'm sure when the put out a trilogy with the first three, we'll buy it.
i agree with the whole padme thing. she was mature enough to be queen at like 12 and then go on to be a galactic senator but they portray her like a silly fool.
My mom has such a problem with this too.
Palpatine feigned to Mace to convert Anakin. He had something Anakin wanted. If Yoda could not defeat him, Mace certainly could not in a real battle where the dark lord uses his full strength. Palps says to Yoda, "Now you will experience the full power of the dark side". Yoda goes into hiding, because he realizes that he will not get another chance at defeating Palps and that he must live to fight another day, which he did thru Luke.
