Reading all these posts, I find I agree with a little bit of what everyone said. I myself, have a tattoo from before I came into the truth. A lot of people in my hall are aware I have it, and a lot aren't. When we're at any type of Christian gathering, I keep it well covered up, which is easy to do, so the only way people know I have it, is if, for example, the topic comes up in conversation, or they accidenatlly see it. I regret getting it, but after 7 years of seeing it all the time, I forget it's there. Don't get me wrong, I think it's cute from time to time, and Adam likes it too, but I'd never get another one, nor would he be ok with me getting another one. I've thought about getting it removed, but to me, it serves as a reminder of who I used to be, and how far I've come. I wasn't a nice person when I got the tattoo, but 7 years later, I've done a complete 180, and seeing the tattoo keeps that fresh in my mind, and allows me to remember I'm not that same person anymore.
It's had some downsides too.....there are a few people who kinda figure that, if I've given up everything from my previous lifestyle, I should get rid of the tattoo as well. But honestly, having the tattoo doesn't make me a bad person, it doesn't change who I am now, and I'm very respectful as far as keeping it covered up. I think there's definite instruction, so to speak, as far as say, getting them once you are already a baptized Witness (however who am I to judge?), but as far as having them before you came into the truth, and keeping them, I see nothing wrong with that.

I've rambled enough, and I don't think I make sense anymore. So I'll stop now. :)
