I never saw the first one. I like depp, so I want to see this one. Should I see the old one first?

But the new one is not a remake of the old one. It's a movie from the book. So, I dunno if it really matters.

I'm not that impressed with the old one. I used to like it well enough..but eh. Gene Wilder doesn't really do it for me (he's kind of a creep) and now that I've seen the new one I can say that it's waaaaay better.
