Aug. 8th
Breakfast: Shredded Wheat w/ walnuts & honey
Lunch: a bialy w/ butter, 1/2 bagel w/ creamcheese & jelly. (we went to LI this w/e, i was craving good NY bread!) Gingerale
Dinner: Chicken Parmagiana, Wheat Pasta (I tried it Diana, it's really good, you can barely taste a difference.) Salad w/ oil & balsamic vinegar, Bread, 2 glasses wine.
Dessert: 1 scoop sherbert
Isn't the pasta great?! Looking at Barilla's website, it's got the same amount of protein as a steak, but is obviously much healthier.
What's a bialy?
it's basically, a more flavorful roll, the center has cooked onion in it.
Like focaccia?
no, focaccia is a bit harder, and the onion is usually baked into it. a bialy has the consistency of a roll. and the onions are just laying in the center of it. (the center is almost completely hollowed out)
Huh. I've never heard of that.
I wondered if it was a Polish thing - I've never lived in an area that had a high Polish or Jewish population, so I guess that's why I've never heard of it. That made me feel a little better.
haha, i know, i was surprised i was familer with something you've never heard of. (and, yea, there is A LOT of jewish people in LI)
