yeah, subtext out the wazoo. i was a distracted dirk watching this episode, so i didn’t make all the connections i think i could have made. still locke, in his hunger to understand the island, is turning out to be bad news. he’s thinking of taking the baby and trading him to the others for secrets about the island! he’s turning evil or . . . confused and shady. this is all conjecture, of course i think echo will become a more benevolent and spiritual advisor. and him marking the trees furthers the clues about an inter-clan sperating process, and also the mysterious “good/bad” list that the OTHERS have. anyway, as for charlie—he hasn’t used the china white. he’s still confused and trying to hold together the little family he’s grown to love and depend on for acceptance, so much so that he went to some pretty extreme and seemingly insane lengths to protect them. Charlie, inside, being a spiritual type dude with serious issues, he’ll feel really strongly about something, but won’t act on in it rationally. as he grows he’ll know to act right, so he don’t get smack’d right by Claire AND Locke. but, man, what a stern beat down he got on the beach. i was totally surprised. ok, so we’ve known for a long while that Claire’s baby, Aaron, is a special baby and is in danger. NOW, some people realize it and are on gaurd, Claire seems to be taking it more seriously by getting Aaron baptized by an african gangster, lol. but that’s good. STILL the others are gonna try to take him again. the ‘ETHAN’ others not the ‘ZEKE AKA the SEA-BILLY’ others, if there actually is such a division. i think we’ll learn more about the baby and the OTHERS real soon. when lost comes back on [Feb 8] it’ll be in a time called SWEEPS! a time when all the shows whip out their best episodes, so lets look forward to some good fun, fish, and fruit flavored moonshine with the OTHERS and our favorite Lostaways.
quicknote: the Hurley and Libby stuff was very cool but more than a little bit weird. i think Libby, being a psychiatrist and Hurley being an ex-mental patient—there is some history there. MAYBE Libby isn’t a psychiatrist at all [she sure doesn’t act like one] but a mental patient herself. hmmm.
quicknote: a really funny line from Saywer to Hurley regarding Libby doing laundrey, “i know ya want to put a load in, yourself.” or something like that. i was rolling. also when Saywer called Hurley “Jabba.” mannn.
quicknote: the best line of the episode goes to increasingly sympathetic yet annoying Anna-Lucia, “are you hittin’ that?” Jack was like, “Whattttttt.”
nice summary. I missed half of this episode due to my meeting and I think I need to download it.
i love when sawyer and hurley were talking about libby and hurley calls them the tailies
yeah, that's a shout to the fans. a lot of fans call them tailies. that was awesome.
I was way underwhelmed by this episode.
yeah me too. kinda lame
totally agree. it was all screw tightening. nothing REALLY interesting. it's also because we aren't amazed or touched by the gangster priest baptizing Claire and Aaron or buy into them being because protected by this or being heaven together. I bet people in certain religions were touched. *shrugs* lol
i know you can be overwhelmed and you can be underwhelmed.. but can you ever be just whelmed?
