Around Thanksgiving.
I heard the price was confirmed to be around $200. Any word on release games?
Price still hasn't been confirmed, but Nintendo has said it will be less than $250 in the US, or 25,000 yen in Japan (which is US$223). So a $200 price is verrrrry likely, but not confirmed. Price will be confirmed by September.
Nintendo has stated that games will be in the normal $50 range, not the extra expensive $60 range like xbox 360 and ps3 games.
And games on the Virtual Console (download games onto the Wii over the net) which includes NES, SNES, N64, Sega Genesis, and TurboGrafx 16 games, as well as newly developed games, will be around 500 yen ($4.44) to 1000 yen ($8.88), putting games in essentially the same price range as Xbox Live Arcade titles for Xbox 360, which generally go for $5-$12.50.
As far as launch titles, there will be some GOOOOD stuff.

New Zelda, Metroid Prime, Wii Sports, Tony Hawk, Madden, Trauma Center, Elebits, Rayman, X-Men, SpongeBob, and lots of others.I expect 16-20 games available on launch. I mean, they showed 27 playable games at E3 in May. 7 months before launch!!
Hmm. Donovan wants to get a Wii; I'm trying to come up with reasons for him not to. Like, he could spend $200 on jewelry for me, or something.
um, he should get it because you both can play it. Wii Tennis looks like it'll be awesome with 2-4 players
That's what he said! I'm not prepared for anything other than Morrowind and Burnout, so we'll see.
why you gotta be so negative about it? The Wii looks SO fun! I really think if you gave it a chance, you'd LOVE it. But, then again, who am I to say. It just seems silly to be so close-minded about it.
haha. You're so silly di!
I am silly, aren't I? I just think it's fun to bust Donovan when he gets all excited about video games. I totally got into Morrowind, didn't I? I'm not trying to sound all negative.
