i know, they didnt really do anything progressive, but thats something i dont mind from ltj. i dont look for clever lyrics or progression from this band...i mean, they are still singing about growi...

I kinda agree with this... like if i wanna listen to a band... its cause i like their style... ya know? like what would Rage be if they progressed? something different... but yeah... NUFAN's new...

i disagree. the reason i didn't like ltj's new album was the same reason i didn't like nufan's last album. none of th songs were anything special in my opinion. all of the songs ran together, and it sounded like not a lot of thought went into the lyrics, or music.

a band can be progressive, and still remain styalized. NUFAN managed to do this for a long time untill their new album.alkaline trio is still getting better with each new album, and so is social distortion, and strung out, just to name a few. these bands create new and creative, innovative music every time they come out with an album, but they do not lose their style.

i relate less than jake's new album to SNL. SNL used to be really funny, untill they started running out of ideas. now they are just doing the same old crap, but they are still on the air because they are able to living off of their name.

I was going to use the examples of strung out and social d as good progressive bands too. Or even RHCP - they've been together and putting out music for over 20 years, and each album sounds fresh. I think most of that is the fact that they put out albums when they feel like it, when they've got enough material.

exactly, their music doesn't all sound the same album to album, it gets better

i guess, but i think when i like a band, if they progress, then thats great. but say if they stay in their "prime," doing what works for them, i'm fine with that too. like saves the day's through being cool. one of my all time favorite albums. while i loved stay what you are, in reverie was ok, and sound the alarm was decent, nothing can compare to through being cool. if sound the alarm sounded like through being cool, i would not be disappointed at all. i dont need a band to recreate itself every album. if i wanted a different sound, i'd listen to a different band. i guess im just easy to please though.
