how do you like this album? i like it, but its too depressing for much playtime in my opinion.
thats how i feel about a few of the albums i own, i love them, but they depress me...ie: juliana theory, further seems forever, etc.
how are these depressing??
maybe if i listened to lyrics more, i'd find music by these bands depressing, but i love listening to their stuff. makes me happy..
lyrics, and just the melodies are depressing, they're not all upbeat and pop-y...like say...reel big fish. RBF always makes me happy, even on a rainy day.
i think the songs like that are melancholy and nice that way. the new STD is like kind of desperation depressed. i like songs about silly problems, because any problem i have is silly and really is no big deal, but these songs are all mopey over silly girl problems and stuff.
sorry, i know this is a little late for this conversation...

i like some music thats a little depressing...juliana theory is a good example, dashboard another...but the new saves the day is like, oh man i feel so bad for chris. lyrics about burning holes in the back of my brain, hell is here, etc. its rampant in every song on there. saves the day, in through being cool and stay what you are, used to have some songs like this, that were well placed through the album. but the new album, while being awesome musically, makes mefeel awful for chris. sounds like he's in constant agony the whole time.
I like it, i listen to it almost daily (probably because it is one of the few albums I have at work) its not super-poppy, but i don't find it really depressing or drama-filled
