Have you been watching some infomercials? :-)

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder ·

infomercials? no, just trying to save money. I opened an ING account and they have CDs that make 5+% interest... just looking at what options are out there

Matt,

Call Luca, he made $800 in one day by doing that on-line trading... he may be able to assist you...

Welcome to the ING family! =)

I have been with them for a couple years and love it. I create accounts all the time, including term deposits I have 8 accounts. LOL

I was thinking you wanted to be like a day trader. (not there is TOO much wrong with that haha )

WOW, you guys get some awesome rates!! 5% is unheard of north of the 49th in a CDIC guaranteed account (CDIC same as your FDIC).

Some links... YMMV, I have worked with some brothers who thought they, knew what they were doing, it didn't turn out well for them. 50K down the tubes. OUCH!

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder ·

how do you withdraw/transfer money from your ING account?

M
monsterEst. 2006 ·

I just kept my original chequing account. Didn't need to change direct deposits and didn't need new cheques, it was easy for me.

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder ·

so i should be able to just transfer funds back to my original checking account right?

M
monsterEst. 2006 ·

Correctomundo!

The initial cheque that you sent them creates a link between the two accounts. Then all you do is transfer back and forth.

M
monsterEst. 2006 ·

Nice you didn't even have to do that, just give them your digits and the link is made.

Oh, after you confirm with them the two small transactions, to make sure your you.

i have recently started using Emigrant Direct. 5.00% savings account, (going up to 5.15% next month), and 5.35% CDs. VERY happy with them so far.

I also have some mutual funds that I put money into every month, but they pretty much increase like -5.00% haha

ilikebirds ilikebirdsOG 2002 ·

Diversify your bonds son!

iwz iwz ·

i have a 401k, which is diversified, a bit. still high risk, since i'm young.

but my mutual funds pretty much stink.

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder ·

hmm after seeing that emigrant account, i'm questioning opening the ING account. 5% interest is pretty sweet

B

Ah...You kidless young men...What's a savings account? LOL!

M
monsterEst. 2006 ·

Not that it means anything.. but

What a cute bank... emigrant 14billion in assets, LOL

ING 1.44Trillion

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder ·

i just registered an emigrant account. I'm going to keep both open I think...

g.f.s.rocks g.f.s.rocksOG 2001 ·

Here is another one for you Matt, this one is 5.05% HSBC Direct

coreyfeldman coreyfeldmanOG 2003 ·

I have a 401K that i manage online through ameriprise. its pretty easy, i normally bounce things off my dad first (he is a financial advisor) so that helps me out.

one thing i have noticed with investing in general, from friends experience: you are never as smart as you think you are.
