Just got home from service, and I just wanted to share something kinda cool
A friend of mine has this really good Bible study, and I've been going with her for a while now, and today was kind of especially good because the woman who is studying is having a hard time in her life right now, and having a hard time believing what she's reading, and needs to build up her faith, etc.
Today the woman pulled out an old bible that her mother in law gave her, she kind of wanted to see if it's the same as 'our Bible' and we found psalms 83:18 and it said "lord" instead of Jehovah, but i was like, they probably have some kind of a preface that they explain that they took the name out
we looked, and sure enough, a short paragraph in the preface said that God's name, which is translated Yahweh or Jehovah, has been replaced by "Lord" or "God" in this translation
she was just like WOW
she just looked like completely stunned, and she said something like, now I have something to show people when they tell me they don't like that i'm doing this
it was awesome
I think it was a turning point for her

being present for a turning point like that is always amazing. it's not just a boost for the afternoon, but for life.
oh yeah, definitely. How awesome is it to see Jehovah's name in a Bible translated by Catholic preists or whatever, and a little note, almost hidden in a little paragraph in a 3-page preface, basically saying "yeah.. we know that's God's name, we just took it out, kthanxbi"
